Week 3, Term 4

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends,

Whether you planned to be or otherwise, you are part of a most exciting chapter in the history of our school. November is a big month for us.

November is the month that we
-have a service at church to transfer proprietorship to KingsWay Trust on Sunday November 6
-change name to Horizon School on Wednesday November 11
-redefine the future of our school through graduate profile, annual plans and marketing material
-let the community know through radio ads, billboards, a new website, a new prospectus, newspaper ads and articles, brochures and events
-continue the refit of the interior of classrooms 1 and 2
-promote enrolment in our school in churches and kindergartens, at a school-based community event, at The Warehouse with sausage sizzles
-prepare for December events that will let people know about us eg the Santa Parade and at Carols in the Park

I have decided that turning a school around is more challenging than starting a school from scratch. All this has to happen while we are producing a musical production, testing for the end of year and writing reports, preparing for big law changes in health and safety, employing new staff for 2016, writing our annual plan and preparing for an ERO review.

To be honest, this is where I need a bigger team. I need you. I need our community to really kick in to help for a few short weeks in order for us to make the most of this great opportunity to let people know what is happening in our school. We want at least 75-80 children at Horizon School next year to continue our growth path, and with the excellent learning and culture here, I can't see why that wouldn't happen.

But there is a story that must be told.

And, because our current team is so small, everyone, including you, is a really valuable part of our team.

How can you help?

Please, before you move on to the next thing in your busy life, can you consider the way(s) you can help us promote and grow our school by completing the form I will email through separately.

Then we can all enjoy the fruit of our labours: well-run events, well presented promotional material, lots of enrolments and more friends for your children to enjoy at school.

How can you help? It is just a few weeks, but if we pull together, this point in our school's history - a point of change and roll growth - will bring you a smile for years to come.

Because we did it together!

Thanks

Helen
