Friday Lunch
There will be no lunches
for sale this week.
Thank you Mrs Chessum and Mrs Franks for your faithful lunch duty.
You deserve a day off.
Poetry, Book Review and
Science Evening
Over the past term the senior class have been busy learning
poems to recite, investigating a science question that has them curious and unpacking
different books. They would like to share these with you on Thursday 3rd
July from 5pm - 6:30. From 5- 5:45 the rooms will be open for science
and book fair viewings followed by the poetry recitals.
It would be great if all the parents of the senior school could
attend.
There will be a sausage sizzle, running for those who would like
a little something to eat during this time. Sausages cost $2.
Celebration Assembly
If possible please join us at our
Celebration Assembly on Friday 4th July at 9.10. School Values
Certificates will be awarded and we will enjoy presentations from some of the
children. As usual please stay and enjoy morning tea with us afterwards.
Thank you so much to all our wonderful
morning tea workers from Mahurangi Baptist Church. We so appreciate all your
effort, refreshing drinks and scrumptious food.
Onboard Skate
Onboard
Skate will provide skateboards and instruction for the last Wheels Day of the
term (Friday 4th July) for those children who bring $2 to defray expenses.
Please send $2 to the class teacher.
New Zoo Date
Mark it on your calendars now our
postponed zoo trip will now take place on Wednesday 30th July.
The Seasons Programme at School
Seasons is a peer support
programme for children who are missing someone important from their daily life.
The loss may be due to the separation of their parents, the death of someone
close to them, or other family change.
The groups are small, usually 3 or 4 children of similar age, with 2 trained adults who use a range of activities, stories, artwork and games to encourage the exploration and sharing of experiences. Topics introduced include feelings, telling our stories, memories, change, strengths and resources. Each programme ends with a Celebration.
Asked
what they would tell other children about “Seasons”… “I liked telling what happened in my life”
– 9 year old boy. “Its very cool - you learn a lot and it helps you with
your problems” – 9 year old girl. “I would tell them join the group!”
– 11 year old boy.
Seasons Groups will be running at school again next
term. For
more information or to enrol your child contact. Helen Pearson at School or
Seasons Co-ordinator, Heather Free ph 021 0813 3586 email seasonswarkworthwellsford@gmail.com .
