Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends
THREE-WAY CONFERENCES
Although many of you
make the most of opportunities to discuss your child’s learning with the
teacher, next Monday we are having our second formal Parent-Teacher-Learner
meetings, at which we are expecting to see you!
You are THE most
important influence on your child and his or her learning and we need to work
together.
It is essential to us as
a school that we meet with each of you and your children to:
- discuss the
learning to date this year
- review progress
with learning goals together
- have your input as
a parent into the learning goals for next term
- help us to better
understand your child
- help us to know
ways we can work together to ensure your child is motivated and enjoying
his or her learning
Please contact your
child’s teacher to make a time on Monday, if you have not already done so.
If Monday doesn’t suit,
please arrange a different time to meet.
There is lots of
learning time still to happen in the year, and we want to make the most of it!
DEVELOPING SOCIAL AND
EMOTIONAL AWARENESS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Next term we are
introducing a new curriculum to develop social and emotional awareness and
social responsibility. I am leading a meeting on Wednesday evening at 7pm to
introduce this curriculum to parents in Years 4-8. However, since inviting
these parents, I have decided that we will introduce this curriculum across the
school and I would welcome any of you who would like to learn more about how we
will be teaching your children to develop as ‘whole’ people.
Meet in the staffroom at
7pm if you can make it!
TERM FOUR
Term Four is shaping up
to be an exciting term, and a great culmination to our year of discovery about
God’s creativity and our creative responses to his world. Please see the dates
in this newsletter, and note that more details will be on our website later
this week.
Thanks
Helen Pearson

join us for assembly and stay for a chat and morning tea afterwards.
Onboard Skate
At
the end of last term we had to postpone our session with Onboard Skate due to
the inclement weather so we are pleased they will be with us for the last
Wheels Day of the term (Friday 26 Sept) to provide skateboards and instruction.
The
cost is $2 per child to defray expenses and if you paid last term this will be
carried over. If you are unsure if you have already paid please check with your
classroom teacher.
Thank you for your conscientious
collection of stickers. It is about to pay off.
Please send all your Yummy Stickers
to school by Friday this week so we can send them off and receive our reward of
sportsgear.
Don’t stop collecting though because
any stickers collected after Friday will be sent in as part of next year’s
collection.
Last chance to buy lunch this term
Order forms will be sent home today. Please
return order forms and payment in a sealed envelope to your child's
teacher before School Assembly on Friday.
Summer Uniform
Next term we change to summer uniform. Students
can wear black sandals rather than shoes.
A hat is compulsory if your child is in the playground.
Our policy states : “require students to wear hats which protect the face, neck and ears,
whenever they are outside and involved in school activities. Students at school
without a hat must remain in an allocated shaded area or inside at break times.
Hats must be broad-brimmed (min 7.5cm), or legionnaire/bucket hats (min 6cm
brim, deep crown). These hats provide significant protection to the eyes”.
Sunhats
will be available from the uniform shop from the beginning of term 4.
Term Four Activities
Information
about Term Four activities, along with further details, will be put onto the
school website this week. Courtesy of the generous gift of time by Jeannette
Jensen.
Open Days/Try Days

is interested in the school please encourage them to come and check us out.

cancelled.

this purely as a support to the teachers, please complete the online
form.
