Dear Parents, Friends
and Caregivers
It was great to meet
most of you at our Three Way Conferences yesterday. If you haven’t met with your child’s teacher
please make another appointment as soon as possible.
During the latter part
of this term, we have noticed that the children have become increasingly
careless with their property, meaning that we have a large amount of lost
property at school on a regular basis.
Our school values
include Loving Ourselves (which includes looking after our property well) and Loving
God’s world (which includes Looking after our environment) , and we are keen
for the children to improve in their care of our school environment, their
uniforms and property.
Uniforms MUST be named.
Please check YOUR child’s uniform to ensure that this is done.
To address our concerns,
-we are meeting as a
school regularly at the start of each day to remind them of our expectations
-we are finishing school
work earlier each day this week to ensure that children take responsibility for
their environment better
Please can you speak
about this with your children?
We will be handing out
Red Cards for ongoing slackness in this area.
Thanks!
Helen

Library Working Bee
We so appreciate all
those willing workers who gave up part of their Saturday to help at the working
bee. A special mention must be given to Isabelle Franks for the numerous hours
of painting, organisation and drive to complete this task. Isabelle you are
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The library is now
freshly painted and everything put back in place. What a huge difference.
Friday Assembly
Please come and
celebrate this term’s achievements with us at our Celebration Assembly this
Friday 9.10. We would love you to stay
after for a cup of tea and a chat with the other parents.
Amended Dates
Please note the change of date for
these two activities.
Zoo trip is Monday 24th
November not Tuesday 25th November.
Volunteer Honouring Assembly Monday
1st December not Friday 5th September.
Onboard Skate
At
the end of last term we had to postpone our session with Onboard Skate due to
the inclement weather so we are pleased they will be with us for the last
Wheels Day of the term (Friday 26 Sept) to provide skateboards and instruction.
The
cost is $2 per child to defray expenses and if you paid last term this will be
carried over. If you are unsure if you have already paid please check with your
classroom teacher.
Lunches
We had our last school lunches day last Friday
so please don’t send money for lunches this week.
Yummy Apple Stickers
Thank you our faithful collectors of
yummy stickers. These will be sent off later this week and we will receive our
well deserved of sportsgear, next term.
If your sticker sheets have not made it to school yet please hand them
into the office as soon as possible.
Don’t stop collecting though because
any stickers collected after Friday will be sent in as part of next year’s
collection.
Summer Uniform
Next term we change to summer uniform. Students
can wear black sandals rather than shoes.
A hat is compulsory if your child is in the playground.
Our policy states : “require students to wear hats which protect the face, neck and ears,
whenever they are outside and involved in school activities. Students at school
without a hat must remain in an allocated shaded area or inside at break times.
Hats must be broad-brimmed (min 7.5cm), or legionnaire/bucket hats (min 6cm
brim, deep crown). These hats provide significant protection to the eyes”.
Sunhats
will be available from the uniform shop from the beginning of term 4.
Holiday Head Lice Check
The
holidays provide the perfect opportunity to eradicate the headlice problem from
school. Please check your child’s hair for headlice and if necessary treat
before they come back to school. It
would be great to start the new term headlice free.

Information

The intention is to provide significant opportunity for children to enjoy art experiences, develop skills and create a number of artworks during the first two weeks of term. Parents who are interested in helping with this purely as a support to the teachers, please complete the online form.
