It was great to see many of you at camp! What a great way to start the year as a
school community.
This year we want to work closely
with you - our whanau and families - to help you engage with the learning of
your children.
To do this, here are some things we
have planned to get us started:

March 5, 5.30-7pm.
Please make it a priority to attend this in order to meet other families meet your child’s teacher see your child’s learning goals for this term, discuss them and modify them with the teacher if necessary

3. New learning goals at the beginning of each
term which you can discuss with the teacher
if you choose
4. Written reports in Terms 2 and 4
5. Three Way Learner-Teacher-Parent
Conferences in Term 3
6. Special
Meetings
If your child is struggling with their learning (is Below
National Standards or only just At) we will be arranging a meeting
with you to discuss progress and how we can work together to see a
shift this year.
Overall, our planning and aim is to
accelerate the learning for every child this year, regardless of whether they are Below
or At or Above National Standards. After
huge shifts in our learners who are Below National
Standards, we are aiming for excellence across the board this year.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
This is the same as the School Donation paid by parents in all state schools, and contributes to learning resources. Please plan to pay this as soon as possible if you can. While it is a donation, we do rely on parent support through this as attendance dues go for land and buildings only.
$80 for the first child, $60 for the second child, $40 for the third child in each family .
If you are interested in praying for our school, please come along to a prayer meeting being held each Thursday morning during term time. The meeting starts at 9am and finishes by 9.45am and is in the creche room, in the chapel.
Louisa Kimber is taking over the running of this ministry. Louisa can be contacted on (09) 425 4274 or louisakimber@btinternet.com.
The next Board of Trustee Meetings for this term is:
Tuesday 10th March 7pm - 9pm
Our first
assembly will be this Friday, 27th February at 9.10am. Parents are welcome to attend
PTA Meeting
The first PTA
meeting for the year is next Wednesday 4th March at 3pm in the
School Office. Any parents interested in
being part of this committee are welcome to attend.

There will be
no swimming this Thursday afternoon.
Listening
to Children Read
We are in need of some reliable parents, grandparents and
friends to come and listen to small groups of 6-7 year old children reading on
a daily basis.
We would like to have a roster. If you are available (or know
someone else who might be) for one hour midmorning to listen to our little
readers, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! Please email Helen or phone the office
to express interest
