Week 9, Term 1

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends,

 We hope that you have a wonderful Easter break.

A few important notices to highlight before you go:

LOST PROPERTY - COLLECT IT BY THURSDAY OR LOSE IT

At the end of the term we will throw out or redistribute the lost property.

Please check through it this week if you think your child needs help to collect what you paid for!

After a fresh start at the beginning of the year:

10% of our learners have polar fleeces in the lost property.

10% of our learners have shoes in the lost property.

There are 42 socks in lost property.

Please name all clothing and chase your child to ensure you have everything you purchased to avoid disappointment.

CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY: 9.10 Thursday

Please come to our Celebration Assembly on Thursday at 9.10. Certificates will be given for learners who have made accelerated progress in their learning, learners will present about their learning, and we will celebrate the Easter story.

SCHOOL CLOSES EARLY: 2pm Thursday 2^nd April.

Headlice

Unfortunately, we have had a report of headlice in the school.  It is important that you check your child’s hair, and treat for head lice if required, to help prevent head lice spreading.  Check the hair of every member of the household. If you find live head lice on anyone, treat them as well. Do not treat everyone “just in case”.   It is a good idea to wash hair ties and hair brushes.

 Please make Tuesday headlice check and treat day.  If we all do this we would be able to eradicate the problem from our school.

Hockey
Registration forms for Hockey have already gone home and are now due back.  The hockey fee for the season is $80 and is it due by the 1^st April.   If you have any queries please contact  Nicolette on 021 307 387.  Nicolette would also love to hear from you if you would like to coach or manage a team.

Prayer for our school

If you are interested in praying for our school, you are welcome to come along to a prayer meeting being held each Tuesday morning, during term time.  The meeting is from 8.50am - 9.20am in the crèche room, in the chapel.   Any queries please contact Louisa Kimber through the school office.

Board Meetings
The next Board of Trustee Meeting is next term on:

Parent Group Meeting
The Parent Group would love to see you at their Meetings.  They meet on the first Wednesday of every month.  Meetings are generally for 1hr.  If you can't make the meeting but would still like to be involved please contact Isabelle Franks on Isabelle@conetworkz.co.nz and we can put you on the minutes list.

Hockey development programme at the new

Warkworth Hockey Turf.

A Player Development Programme for students aged Year 7-8 and Year 9-13 at the new Warkworth Hockey Turf,

There will be two sessions offered.  This is a fantastic opportunity for all students, to gain some specialist coaching and gain some great hockey skills.  Registrations are now open for those who are interested by emailing g.kearins@mahurangi.school.nz or letting the Sports Office know on telephone 09 425 8039 Extn 726 during business hours.
