The Great Mahu Bake-Off
A Baking and Decorating Competition for the
Community.
Six categories from Best Decorated Cake,
best tasting: cake, hot cross buns and biscuits to Best Decorated Easter Egg,
Three divisions: Primary school
children, Secondary School students and adults.
Bring your entries to the Masonic Hall,
Warkworth between 8 and 8.30am on
the morning of the 12th.

For kids the activities
include an Easter egg hunt hosted by the Easter Bunny, old time games including
a coconut shy, egg & spoon race and sack races, plus bouncy castles, the
‘Terminator’ and fun-fair styled rides.
For adults the options range
from the fine wine auction;, to fresh fish, oyster, smoked fish & crayfish
quick-fire raffles; an amazing silent auction and excellent local food
including Leigh snapper burgers, lamb baps & half shell oysters plus home
baking & great coffee.
Spot prizes (a double
pass helicopter ride!) will happen at 10.30am & 1.30pm. See our website for

UNI HOCKEY - Saturday mornings, Year 1 & 2
Mahurangi Junior Hockey Club is
running Uni Hockey weekly games for year 0-2. These will be held at Shoesmith
Domain Warkworth 8.30am Saturday mornings in the 2nd term. The session is made
up of a combination of skill games, then followed by a hockey game
with plastic sticks and balls. No practises, just Saturday play. If you
are interested in joining please contact sandratom@xtra.co.nz for a registration form.

Mahurangi East Library - 'Horrible Histories
Challenge'.
These
independently managed activities can be worked on with friends - they involve a
choice of composing a song, creating an artwork, or a drama, or writing a fact file, or
book review. Judging 29th April. Awards ceremony & small feast (dress
historical) 1st May. Order your favourite 'Horrible' book online now.
Heroes Day - 24th
April. Stories, wreaths and biscuit baking. Bring a picture of your hero along.
If you have
11-14yr olds in the family who wish to participate in a visual literacy workshop for a coming photography exhibition please
register your interest, spaces will be limited. Students must be able to attend
daily from 3 - 4.45pm, from the 28th April - 2nd May. Preferably
they will have access to a digital photography device and be interested in war histories.
Toy Library
The Snells Beach Toy Library is now open during term time on Thursdays 9.30-11am. It is now located off the gravel car park at the rear of the Snells Beach Baptist Church and access to the building is pram friendly!
